Thanks For Accepting Famousdebater And Good Luck My Friend
Thanks for accepting Famousdebater and good luck my friend! Framework: Based on the definitions given in round one, we see this debate rests on ethics. That is, whether the individual or society is ââ¬Å"ethically paramount.â⬠Thus, it should be obvious that the framework for this debate could only reasonably be set on how morality is determined. Once determined all that is left is to apply ethics to our question. An Intro To Ethics: Utilitarianism Famousdebater and I Identify as Utilitarianââ¬â¢s, and as it is widely accepted moral world view. Here is a basic overview of utilitarian ethics. Ethics delves into what ought to be rather than what is. Henry Sidgwick rightly points out a typical flaw made when determining what ought to be done, or in other words, what is ethical. ââ¬Å"we frequently prescribe that this or that `ought to be done or aimed at without any express reference to an ulterior end,â⬠(1) As John Stuart Mill says ââ¬Å"All action is for the sake of some end.â⬠In order to determine what we ought do we must observe what the results will be from that action. What ends are produced? ââ¬Å"all the rules of conduct which men prescribe to one another as moral rules are really---though in part unconsciously---prescribed as a means to the general happiness of mankind,â⬠Henry Sidgwick (2)This is basic utilitarianism, The Greatest good for the greatest number. As Utilitarianism is the ethic both my opponent and I subscribe to and is a sound moral philosophy, it ought to be the

Why Marvel is Better than DC Essay Example For Students
Why Marvel is Better than DC Essay Everyone has their own preferences when it comes to superheroes. One might prefer a superhero that can fly, but another might prefer a superhero that can control steel. Different preferences creates a battle between Marvel and DC, which takes place in the aisles of comic book stores and subconscious of comic fans for decades. Marvel is a comic company established in 1939 in New York City who collaborates with Disney since 2009. Since the 1960s, it has been one of the two largest American comics companies, along with DC Comics (ââ¬Å"Marvel comics history and Marvel comics backgroundâ⬠). On the other hand, DC comics has started in 1935 in California, who later became a subsidiary of Warner Bro. in 1989(ââ¬Å" DC Comicsâ⬠). However, Marvel is better than DC in many perspectives, including the fact that Marvelââ¬â¢s comics target positive themes whereas DC comics target negative themes, Marvel has a lager audience than DC and Marvel benefits from collaboration with other companies whereas DC is restricted by hierarchy. The themes of Marvelââ¬â¢s productions reflect an aspiring side, but the themes of DCââ¬â¢s comic sometimes reflect a dispirited aspect. DC characters are extremely dark whereas the growth environments of Marvelââ¬â¢s heroes are, in general, more positive. For instance, in the case of Batman, ââ¬Å"As a young child, Bruce Wayne watched his parents murdered before his eyes. Thomas and Martha Wayne were walking home with their son, when they were held up at gunpoint by a mugger who demanded the pearl necklace that Martha was wearing. When Dr. Wayne refused to surrender it, both he and Martha were shot dead in the streetsâ⬠(ââ¬Å"Batman (Bruce Wayne)â⬠). This incident indicates reasons that create character traits like being cold and aloof towards others in Wayneââ¬â¢s character. However, as one of the most famous roles in Marvel- Iron Man, grows up in a family which owns a prominent US firm, and graduates with 2 masterââ¬â¢s degrees by aged of 19 from MIT. Thus, his character portrays confidence and audaciousness. Moreover, the darkness of these characters has even affected the actors playing these roles. For example, Heath Ledger who played the role of The Joker in DC comics was thought to have gone through a kind of depression because of the dark and tragic character that The Joker portrays (White). However, Robert Downey Jr. ho played the role of Iron Man in Marvelââ¬â¢s comics overcame his troubled life after the release of Iron Man 1 and his career was enhanced significantly. From the perspective of DCââ¬â¢s fans, they find that their superheroes eventually grows gloomier, ââ¬Å" First it was Sad Batman. Then came Sad Superman. Then another shot of Sad Batman. Next, the world met Angry Wonder Woman. The film looks more and more ridiculously dourâ⬠(Singer). In contrary, the movie reviews for Marvelââ¬â¢s movies are said to be ââ¬Å"smart and funny retro thrillsâ⬠(Brawshaw), which indicates that Marvel tends to create a positive and enjoyable atmosphere. Hence, as two of worlds largest comic and cartoon corporations, DC comics reflect negative themes and conversely, Marvel comics reflect positive themes. As one of the more famous producers of superhero comics, Marvel has wider market and is aimed at a larger audience than DC. According to John Lallyââ¬â¢s article ââ¬Å"Marvel vs DC: Heres Solid Proof That The Ultimate Winner Isâ⬠, from 2005 to 2014, Marvel has 23 films whereas DC only has 10 films, which shows that Marvel has more materials for plays. Also, total gross of Marvelââ¬â¢s movies is approximately 2. times as much as DCââ¬â¢s in addition of ten million of dollars more than DCââ¬â¢s box office per film on average (Lally). .ue1183f78868b9709aea48f2897a905c6 , .ue1183f78868b9709aea48f2897a905c6 .postImageUrl , .ue1183f78868b9709aea48f2897a905c6 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .ue1183f78868b9709aea48f2897a905c6 , .ue1183f78868b9709aea48f2897a905c6:hover , .ue1183f78868b9709aea48f2897a905c6:visited , .ue1183f78868b9709aea48f2897a905c6:active { border:0!important; } .ue1183f78868b9709aea48f2897a905c6 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .ue1183f78868b9709aea48f2897a905c6 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .ue1183f78868b9709aea48f2897a905c6:active , .ue1183f78868b9709aea48f2897a905c6:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .ue1183f78868b9709aea48f2897a905c6 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .ue1183f78868b9709aea48f2897a905c6 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .ue1183f78868b9709aea48f2897a905c6 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .ue1183f78868b9709aea48f2897a905c6 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .ue1183f78868b9709aea48f2897a905c6:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .ue1183f78868b9709aea48f2897a905c6 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .ue1183f78868b9709aea48f2897a905c6 .ue1183f78868b9709aea48f2897a905c6-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .ue1183f78868b9709aea48f2897a905c6:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Cinema - In a World of Its Own EssayThe difference between profits suggests Marvelââ¬â¢s movies consume larger audiences and more popularity. Graeme Virtue also mentions that in the list of top 100 best-selling titles, DC takes up 43 spaces whereas Marvel takes up 53 spaces (Graeme). These numbers show that even though the dominance of the big two publishers giants of comic industry are approximately equal, Marvel is leading the box office recent years. In the field of selling comic books, Marvel also dominates the book market. John Mayo has pointed out that ââ¬Å"The estimated total sales for the 420 comics was 7,014,961 comics which is up by 324,637 units from November and up by 82,258 units from December 2012. Marvel Comics had the largest percentage of the top 420 comics with 36. 32% of the total units sold followed by DC Comics with 33. 83%â⬠(Mayo). Therefore by comparing the size of the audience, Marvel obviously exceeds that of DC. The popularity of Marvel comics is also does to the cooperation with companies like Disney, which help promote the sale performance. In addition, Warner Bros. ââ¬â¢s decisions delimitates the development of DC since DC is one of subsidiaries of Warner Bors.. Marvel as an independent company greatly benefits from the partnership with Disney, since Disney is considered as one of the strongest and most powerful brand in the world. People can walk into a Disney store and find many Marvel themed (toys, games, references) Even when visiting Disney Land, they can find exhibitions for Iron Man and Thor. The collaboration between Marvel and Disney brings conveniences to its fans, because Disney store can be seen in a lot of places, which also offers an incentive to the sale performance of Marvel. Nevertheless, according to Gerber, DC as a company control by Warner Brothers, is ââ¬Å"at the mercy of what Warner Bros. decides to do with its superhero franchises based on the studioââ¬â¢s business needs and goalsâ⬠(Gerber), which triggers ââ¬Å"DC has struggled to score hits with anyone but their big two: Batman and Supermanâ⬠(). Since Warner Brother has many subsidiaries like DC, it can get profits from many parts such as Harry Pottery. Hence, remaining the parts of DC which have maximum profits is considered as a wise choice for Warner Bros. However, these decisions will prevent the development of DC, because DC now still struggles its ââ¬Å"big twoâ⬠, which will eventually leads to ââ¬Å"aesthetic fatigueâ⬠for the audiences while Marvel is making less-known characters in the big screen. Unlike DC, Marvel is able to take advantage of collaboration. In conclusion, Marvel has substantial advantages when compared with DC. Marvel comics reflect positive themes, whereas DC showcases negative themes that affects on people perspective of life. In addition, Marvelââ¬â¢s movies and comics are accepted by larger and more diverse audiences from different age gap, race, gender etc.. Moreover, Disney promotes the development of Marvel, in contrary, Warner Bros. rigidly holds up the expansion of DC. Even though in some areas DC displays its strengths, its drawbacks however limit its development significantly allowing Marvel to easily dominate the future movie market along with comics. Sports vs Performing Arts Essay Example For Students
Sports vs Performing Arts Essay Should the performing arts receive equal as sports? The performing arts have been proven to increase a childs mind. Yet sports keep the mind and body strong. This is a debate that has being going on for the past 20 years. On whether funding should be used to fund sports or the performing arts. People argue for both sides. Today am arguing for the performing arts. Music education being the right Of all children it must be taught in appropriate ways suggested by the geographical cultural and social environment (3). And yes, that is true. Every child should have the write to experience. Every person, in every culture is introduced to some form of music. Whether a person lives in Asia, Africa, Italy, or the LISA. That person is introduced to the kind of music in that culture. But scientists have said time after time that Music lessons appear to strengthen the links between brain neutrons and build new spatial reasoning, says psychologist, Frances Earaches of university of California-Irving. We will write a custom essay on Sports vs Performing Arts specifically for you for only $16.38 $13.9/page Order now The thought of teaching music in schools did not even begin until the late sasss. According to Bill Vive who is the Chairman, National Endowment for the Arts By the late sasss, we began to realize that along with scientific knowledge and physical fitness, we needed to feed the imagination of students with arts (Vive, 56). Which says something about the United States, This country is always saying how everything is done for the future of this country, the children. Then, how come the idea of teaching music wasnt thought of till then? But at least the USA decided to mandate that the arts be taught in schools from elementary to high school. Not just in elementary schools or in high schools as electives, but as a comprehensive, sequential curriculum taught by qualified searchers, beginning with pre-school instruction and continuing with required courses for high school graduation (Vive, 55). Later, into the sasss the United States slowly began to evaluate what music did to the mind. How the mind was scoped by music, what music did to the brain and etc? The Music Education Association says. They feel that the arts will play a major roll in the future success of the educational system (6). By the late sasss, Congress mandated that the National Endowment of the Arts to report on the status of arts education (Vive, 56). And it was proven that hillier who study the arts score higher on test, do better in school, and even scored higher on the College Boards Cats. Our case for the critical importance to the arts is also bolstered by the College Boards report that students who study the arts in general, and music in particular, score considerably higher on both the verbal and math sections of the SAT (Vive, 55). Music has also been shown to do better with high school students, It has been shown that high school music students have higher grade point averages than non-music students in the same school Music students are out performing non-music students n the Cats. College bound seniors with coursework or experience in music performance scored 52 percent higher on the verbal portion and 37 points higher on the math portion. Other groups have also studied the effects of music and the arts on the brain and on people. JAN. ROR and D. C Miller used an electroencephalogram to investigate subtle changes in brain electrical activity (Teaching Music, 41). The study showed that the activity in the temporal regions of the brain were higher then an average child. .u121d311914d2bd2fb5cfaf12c08158fe , .u121d311914d2bd2fb5cfaf12c08158fe .postImageUrl , .u121d311914d2bd2fb5cfaf12c08158fe .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .u121d311914d2bd2fb5cfaf12c08158fe , .u121d311914d2bd2fb5cfaf12c08158fe:hover , .u121d311914d2bd2fb5cfaf12c08158fe:visited , .u121d311914d2bd2fb5cfaf12c08158fe:active { border:0!important; } .u121d311914d2bd2fb5cfaf12c08158fe .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .u121d311914d2bd2fb5cfaf12c08158fe { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .u121d311914d2bd2fb5cfaf12c08158fe:active , .u121d311914d2bd2fb5cfaf12c08158fe:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .u121d311914d2bd2fb5cfaf12c08158fe .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .u121d311914d2bd2fb5cfaf12c08158fe .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .u121d311914d2bd2fb5cfaf12c08158fe .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .u121d311914d2bd2fb5cfaf12c08158fe .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .u121d311914d2bd2fb5cfaf12c08158fe:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .u121d311914d2bd2fb5cfaf12c08158fe .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .u121d311914d2bd2fb5cfaf12c08158fe .u121d311914d2bd2fb5cfaf12c08158fe-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .u121d311914d2bd2fb5cfaf12c08158fe:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Death Penatly EssayProving that music does do something to the brain. Many other groups have done research or have seen what music does to a child or to people. Bob Schaffer of Colorado who is a member of the House of Representative says, recent scientific studies confirm what teachers of old have always known- music and the other arts stimulate higher brain function (11). According to the Music Education Association and Earaches who is a Psychologist at SIC- Irving, music does improve the mind. Earaches says Music instruction can improve a childs spatial intelligence for long periods of time- perhaps permanently (6) when he told The American Psychologist Association. Dry. Wilson who is another researcher feels these findings are so significant that it will lead to a universal understanding in the next century that music is an absolute necessity for the total development of the brain and individual Music has multiple learning benefits, and recent studies establish a casual relationship between music and enhanced learning ability (6). Music has also been shown to hue benefits later in life. Successful music students develop the skills necessary for a variety of occupations. Successful music students tend to posses the qualities and skills that are generally considered essential o employers in business education, and service organizations The Norwegian Research Council for Science and the Humanities has found a connection veneer students having music competence and high motivations in that they were more likely to achieve success in school (6). The Music Education Association also says It has also been found that through involvement, in group music activities on the high school level, individual learn to support each other, maintain commitment and bond together for group goals The last thing the Music Education Association says about how music improves the mind is that Music Education Association feels and has observed that student involvement in school music has a positive impact on other areas to their lives David Rosenberg who is the dean at Claret school of music says that creative musicians are always pioneers on a sonic arts frontier, whether listening, performing, composing, researching, studying, producing, presenting, improvising, analyzing, theorizing or writing about music (4). Music even establishes a part of college. Colleges look for people who participate in the arts because it takes a lot of effort, time, and dedication. Fred Harridan, who is an ex-dean of Stanford, said, We look for students who have taken part in orchestra, symphonic band, chorus and drama. It shows a level of energy and an ability to organize time that we are looking for here (6). Music lessons have also been shown to improve the mind. Several quotes from Music Education Online and The Music Education Association show that music lessons increase the mind. Such as this quote from the Music Education Association, Music studies increase in reading skills and math proficiency dramatically Music lessons contribute to the development of the brain and patina intelligence Even Dry. Frank Wilson from the University of California School of Medicine says that his studies show that instrumental practice enhances coordinations, concentration and memory and also brings about the improvement of eyesight and hearing (6). There are even researchers that say that students who dont have access to an arts program is damaging their minds. Dry. Jean Houston of the Foundation tort Mind Research says that children without access to an arts program are actually damaging their brain. They a re not being exposed to non-verbal modalities, which help them earn skills like reading, writing and math much more easily A survey done on band parents show that music is even important in the family. The survey found that of them agree that many people dont know or understand the benefits of band (6). When the survey continued, non-band parents and band parents were survived on the educational benefits Of band. 5% of the non-band parents surveyed felt that band provides educational benefits not found in Other classrooms and that 78% Of the same group felt that band is more educational then extra-curricular activities. Music is not just an art. T is also a subject. Music has the involvement of every subject taught in school. From science to math to even history. Gore example, Music is history. What We Know About Planets
What We Know About Planets Ormel and Kobayashi state that considerable time and mass are required to form a gigantic planet (1). In 1990, scientists discovered a planetary system around a millisecond pulsar. Later on, the scientists were able to measure the movement of the 51 Peg star (i.e. 5th magnitude star) located in the constellation of Pegasus.Advertising We will write a custom essay sample on What We Know About Planets specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More This discovery marked the first evidence of the existence of exoplanets (planets surrounding other stars). Since then, astrologists have discovered the existence of numerous exoplanets (Havel et al., 1). For instance, Sahlmann and others employed the radial-velocity method to detect the existence of extrasolar planets (1). Discovering other Planets Many astrologists find it extremely hard to capture straight images of exoplanets. This is because they must observe the light reflected by the far-flung parent star. The imaging is compounded further by the fact that the light projected by an exoplanet is million of times weaker than the parent star itself. Thus, exoplanet imaging is comparable to an attempt to spot a moth moving around a lighthouse from several miles away. Astrologists have (in the past few years) spotted a number of exoplanets as direct sources of the reflected light. In reality, these are far-flung gigantic planets which are orbiting their own solar systems. Thus, the direct imaging of exoplanets remains an extremely complex task which may take a long time to accomplish (Perryman 1). On the other hand, astrologists have been able to ascertain the existence of exoplanets by detecting their properties using astronomical telescopes mounted in the space and ground (Sahlmann et al., 1). One of the most effective strategies used to spot an exoplanet is detecting the manner in which the gravitational force of the planet acts on the parent star. Scientists can measure the gravi tational force of an exoplanet because both the parent star and the planet orbit their respective centre of mass. Since the parent star has substantial mass, it experiences a smaller tremble compared to the exoplanet. However, both the star and the planet have an identical orbital period. Thus, astronauts are able to detect the presence of an exoplanet (i.e. The starââ¬â¢s Doppler shift) by examining the wavelength of shadowlike lines produced by the star over an extended period of time. The technique explained above must be repeated several times in order to detect an exoplanet. This technique has enabled astronauts to discover over 200 planets to date. In addition, approximately 10 percent of the stars visible to the human eye are surrounded by exoplanets (Kasting 1).Advertising Looking for essay on astronomy? Let's see if we can help you! Get your first paper with 15% OFF Learn More Astronauts are currently using the velocity of the parent star to deter mine the mass of the exoplanet. It is important to note that scientist discovered the first exoplanet in 1999 via a high-tech spectroscopic measurement gadget. Currently, the findings by several astronomical instruments such as the US HIRES (Keck 10-m) telescope located in Hawaii have facilitated the discovery of planets with masses comparable to that of the Earth. Scientists have also found that it is possible to spot an exoplanet that has mass corresponding to that of the Earth if the velocity of the host star is computed with a precision of approximately one meter for every second. Astronauts have also detected the presence of a star by examining the light it generates. For instance, the targeted star can be detected from the microscopic reduction in the brightness of the parent star when the planet happens to move across its face. The result is synonymous to the transit of the Venus as gleaned from the earth. Although astrologists are able determine the variation in brightness, they are nonetheless not capable of detecting the transit of the planet across the parent star. Although the transit mark (dimming) can be visible for several hours, the star must be screened for several years in order to detect a recurring pattern (which implies the existence of an excellent). It deserves merit to mention that the photometric transit technique has facilitated the discovery of over 100 exoplanets ever since 1999. Some of the exceptional breakthroughs are those of the US Kepler Satellite (set up in 1999), French-led CoRot Satellite, and the UK-led WASP Satellite (Ormel and Kobayashi 2). There are two reasons why astrologists appear to favour photometric transit technique in detecting exoplanets. First, they can use the Doppler measurements to compute the planetââ¬â¢s mass on the basis of the gravitational force exerted on the host star. Second, the diameter of an exoplanet can be computed using the microscopic amount of dimming as it moves across the face of the p arent star. Thus, the degree of the dimming will be higher if the exoplanet in transit is gigantic. Astrologists can use these planetary characteristics (mass and size) to approximate the density of the planet. In addition, it is possible to ascertain the atmosphere and chemical compositions of a star by monitoring variations in the spectrum of the parent star. Astrologists are now able to partially determine the constituents of the exoplanet atmosphere (Kasting 1). The Creation of Planetary Systems Pierre-Simon Laplace, Immanuel Kant and Emmanuel Swedenborg are among the first scientists to propose theories relating to the formation of the planetary system. For instance, Laplace proposed that gravitational force caused nebulae (gaseous rings) to gradually rotate, crumple and even out resulting in the formation of planets.Advertising We will write a custom essay sample on What We Know About Planets specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More In other words, Laplaceââ¬â¢s theory suggests that planets emerged as a result of the disintegration of a distinct system of gaseous clouds wherein impulsive gravitational force resulted in the formation of planets. However, the theory was discarded in the 20th century since it did not explain how the matter could be disintegrated in a manner that the planet retained over 99 percent of the entire angular force in their orbit while the sun ended up with over 99.8 percent of the entire mass of the planetary system. There are other theories relating to the solar system. For example, the Chamberlin-Moulton theory proposed that materials from an exploding sun led to the formation planets. On the other hand, the star-Sun collusion model suggests that a gigantic star collided with the Sun and resulted in the formation of the planetary systems (Kasting 3). However, the solar nebula theory is currently the most recognized model that explains the manner in which planetary systems are formed. This model suggests that planets were created from dust particles and hydrogen gas. These components were by-products of previous cycles of stellar progression. The intricate interstellar shock waves processes caused the hydrogen gas to subside. As a result, the dust particles and hydrogen crumpled into a massive proto-planetary disk resembling a pancake. The bottom-up process is believed to have taken place within the disk planes. In addition, fusions and collision continued via several phases typified by qualitative disparities in each particle interaction. In other words, the primeval dust elements collided and combined on a continuous basis leading to the formation of rocks (approximately 10 meters in size). These rocks then proceeded to collide and developed into mini-planets (approximately 10km in size) after thousands of years (Kasting 3). The gravitational force caused the mini-planets to develop further into rock-strewn terrestrial planets (such as Mars and Earth). The int erior formations of the terrestrial planets were characterized by the chemical and physical delineation. In addition, the spherical outline of these planets was manipulated by their respective gravitational forces. The gaseous giant planets (i.e. Saturn and Jupiter) formed far away from the parent star. This happened because their moderately small cores quickly amassed the hydrogen gas that emanated from the flattening disk. If the process of planetary formation takes place in a systematic way, the ensuing planets will emerge in spherical trajectories and their orbital paths will be parallel to the spinning axis of the parent star.Advertising Looking for essay on astronomy? Let's see if we can help you! Get your first paper with 15% OFF Learn More In addition, their trajectories will be perpendicular to their rotation axes. In general, the gigantic planets will form far away from the parent star where additional disk matter is present for accumulation. It appears that the broad characteristics of our solar system emerged from the process described above. Scores of scientists believe that the snowline played a significant role in the formation of the planetary systems. It is an established fact that water turns into ice when the temperature falls below 180K. It appears that the snowline in the primordial solar nebular declined by approximately three times the distance between the sun and the Earth. There is a basis for this assertion since the C-class (water-rich) asteroids are principally located on the exterior part of the asteroid belt (Havel et al., 4). The Structural Design of the Planetary System The solar system is organized in an extremely intricate manner. The overall picture of the Sun, a limitless number of comets, the eight planets and their respective moons are simply astonishing. Their isotopic and chemical compositions, age, density and mass depict an elaborate record of primordial development and successive evolutions manipulated by gravitational force and moulded by the phenomenon of quality. According to the radiogenic experiments on meteorites and seismological studies, the solar system is believed to be approximately 4.5 billion years old. It is believed that the solar system was formed from the disintegrating dusts particles and hydrogen gas that came into existence around this period. Some scientists also believe that the eight planets were created from the systematic synthesis of protoplanets, planetesimals and rocks. Mars, Earth, Venus, and Mercury (terresial planets) formed adjacent to the Sun since there was a limited amount of disk particles (Kasting 3). Scientists have made some major breakthroughs relating to the origin and characteristics of exoplanets. These discoveries hav e been made possible because previous theories relating to the formation of the solar system laid the basis for comprehending the composition and dynamics of the solar system. However, these theories have undergone substantial adjustments in order to facilitate better understanding of our marvellous solar system. The current ground and space exploration missions are expected to new discoveries and augment the existing knowledge about the solar system. What makes a successful Administrative Director of Radiology - Essay Example Is it important that the individual have managerial experience and higher education than an associate's degree to be successful? The research is to define what makes a successful administrative director of radiology. After reading this report it will be easy to determine what makes a person a successful administrative director of radiology. The current job market requires an administrative director of radiology or the equivalent to have a Bachelors or Master degree with 3-5 years experience as a technologist, 3-5 years of radiology supervisory experience, and to be licensed by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Other requirements are to posses' strong leadership skills, strong customer service orientation and must be familiar with Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), as well as state and federal regulations. 1.2 Radiologic Imaging Education Requirements In the last two decades, a two-year associate degree programs were most prevalent or completion of a 24-month AMA approved School of Radiology. Previously, radiologic imaging was only viewed as a technical career, presently with all the new organizations that support technologist it is now considered a professional career due to the advanced technology in imaging over the last decade. Another reason radiologic imaging is being recognized as a professional career is the support of organizations such as; American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), Nuclear Medicine Technologists Certification Board (NMTCB), American Society of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ASTRO), and American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT). A bachelor's or master's degree in one of the radiologic technologies or related to business or healthcare is desirable for administrative directors of radiology. 1.3 Radiologic Imaging Disciplines Radiologic Imaging consists of multiple disciplines such as; radiography, mammography, nuclear medicine, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computed tomography (CT), radiation oncology, ultrasound, bone density imaging (DEXA). Each discipline has its own specific function. Diagnostic X-ray (radiography) is an examination using electromagnetic energy beams to produce images onto film or computer. Diagnostic radiography produces and interprets high-quality images used in the diagnosis of injury and disease. Resulting in the Relocation of Japanese Americans Essay
Resulting in the Relocation of Japanese Americans - Essay Example The United States President made the above Executive Order to protect American interests. The Enduring Visionsââ¬â¢ Chapter 25 states that the president during 1942 was Franklin Delano Roosevelt (Boyer 765). The order instructed all military units to imprison all Japanese Americans in preselected military prison camps (http://www.ourdocuments.gov/). The order was made in order to restrict the movement of resident who are of Japanese ancestries. The United States war enemies of 1942 included Japan, Italy, and Germany. The order was meant to restrict the movements of the Japanese Americans, two months after Pearl Harbor was bombed by Japanese military pilots (Laurier 35). Further, the order instructed the military to give food, shelter and other comforts to the incarcerated civilians. The order does mention the nationalities of the persons to be rounded up and imprisoned. However, the letter clearly states that the military will include the Japanese residents among those to be picked up and locked up in military camps within the United States (http://www.ourdocuments.gov/). Furthermore, the United States instructed the Secretary of War and the military commander to spearhead seeking the help of the federal troops and the federal agencies to implement the order. Consequently, the United States President ordered all United States departments to collaborate with the military authoritiesââ¬â¢ implementation of order 9066 (http://www.ourdocuments.gov/). Moreover, the intentions of the order did not limit the current investigations of the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation. The bureau was investigating and weeding out possible saboteurs and spies from within the American communities having race relationships with the current United States war enemies. The bureau picked up and filed cases against proven Japanese spies and saboteurs (http://www.ourdocuments.gov/). Further, Executive order 9066 was issued during February of 1942. The document was made after Pearl Harbor was bombed by the Japanese airplanes during December 7, 1941. The Japanese bomb ing during was two hours (Lassier 89). Even though the order did not mention whether the targeted civilians were Japanese, German, or Italian residents, the general interpretation of the order was to only focus on the Japanese people. This is understandable because of the recent bombing of Pearl Harbor (http://www.ourdocuments.gov/). As proof, the military started to forcibly rounding up and transfer the Japanese Americans within the designation military zones. Secretary of State ordered the Military Commander, Lt. General Dewitt, as the military commander of the Western Defense Command overseeing the implementation of Executive Order 9066 on February 20, 1942. The military prison zones were located in the western halves of California, Oregon, and Washington. Likewise, the Southern half of Arizona was set as another military prison zone. As proof that the military zones are prison camps, the Japanese were restricted to only moving within the military zones
